A matchup between up and coming flyweight contenders has been rebooked for the UFC’s second pay-per-view event in March.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the fight between Gillian Robertson and Miranda Maverick has been rebooked for UFC 260. The event takes place March 27 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. FighterPath was first to report the new date.
Robertson and Maverick were set to compete at UFC 258, but the bout was cancelled the day of the event after Robertson fell ill, her coach Din Thomas confirmed to MMA Fighting.
The 25-year-old Robertson recently had a two-fight winning streak snapped by Taila Santos this past December at UFC Vegas 19. “Savage” is set to make her 10th octagon appearance and holds finish wins over Emily Whitmire, Molly McCann, Veronica Macedo, Sarah Froto and Cortney Casey.
Maverick is looking to keep her momentum going following an impressive octagon debut. “Fear the” earned a first-round TKO win over Liana Jojua to extend the former Invicta Phoenix Series tournament champion’s winning streak to six fights.
UFC 260 is headlined by a heavyweight title rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, while Alexander Volkanovski defends his featherweight title against Brian Ortega in the co-main event.
