Former world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski will return from his year plus long hiatus from fighting when he takes on “Bombardier” Serigne Ousmane Dia at the upcoming KSW 59 card on March 20.
KSW officials announced the news on Monday.
Pudzianowski, who has been a massive star in his native Poland for several years, has become a fixture at KSW shows since turning his attention to mixed martial arts back in 2009. Since that time, Pudzianowski has put together a 13-7 record with one no contest while typically living by the ‘go big or go home’ philosophy for most of his performances.
Most recently, the 44-year-old Polish powerhouse defeated Erko Jun by second-round TKO at KSW 51 in November 2019. Now he will return while facing another huge heavyweight at KSW 59.
Serigne Ousmane Dia — better known by his nickname “Bombardier” — is regarded as the greatest Senegalese wrestler of all time while twice being named “King of the Arena.” He currently has two fights in his MMA career with the massive 330-pound fighter holding a perfect 2-0 record with TKO wins in both performances.
Now “Bombardier” will clash with Pudzianowski in a fight that will almost certainly require KSW to reinforce the cage when they meet on March 20.
