Khamzat Chimaev is ready to prove that his breakout 2020 campaign was no fluke.

Chimaev is scheduled to face Leon Edwards in the main event of a UFC event on March 13 at a location to be announced, and he has video receipts to show he’s working hard.

Ahead of the highly anticipated welterweight matchup, Chimaev can be seen absolutely destroying a heavy bag with a slew of slams and suplexes in a video you can see above.

The bag beating is so bad, he completely busts its guts out.

“I want to smash him,” Chimaev said in the clip. “I want to destroy him.”

As the video continues, the surging up-and-comer talks about wanting to “smash” Edwards, the fighter many believe could be next in line to fight for the 170-pound title.

“I want to take his head,” Chimaev said. “I have nine right now, but soon I’ll have 10. Then we’ll continue collecting more.”

Chimaev adds that he has never watched Edwards fight aside from the UK fighter’s loss to current champion Kamaru Usman in December 2015.

“If Usman won like that, I’ll demolish him,” Chimaev said. “He has no knockout power or anything special at all. I’ll dominate both him and Usman.”

Hopefully, the third time’s the charm for the Edwards vs. Chimaev matchup, as it’s been postponed on two different occasions due to positive COVID-19 tests.
