Bellator has signed Khasan Magomedsharipov, the younger brother of UFC star Zabit Magomedsharipov, to a multi-fight deal.

A promotion official confirmed the news to MMA Fighting following an initial report from MMA Junkie. Khasan Magomedsharipov competes in the featherweight division, like his brother, and boasts a 5-0 professional record with four finishes. His promotional debut is not yet set.

The UFC star’s younger brother has already impressed MMA fans with his submission savvy, pulling off a Twister this past year in his fourth professional fight.

The brothers frequently train alongside a bevy of UFC veterans in Toms River, N.J., with famed MMA coach Mark Henry.

Bellator on Wednesday announced the kickoff for its 2021 schedule, which begins April 2 with the continuation of a featherweight grand prix. Two-division champ Patricio Freire defends his belt in a semifinal fight against Emmanuel Sanchez, whom he previously beat via decision in 2018. The promotion announced its new broadcast home with Showtime.
