UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes was on the road to redemption when he met Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC 242.
After a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou 10 months earlier, Blaydes was back in the win column with a decision over Justin Willis and was looking to build a streak that would put him back into title contention.
Blaydes did exactly what he needed to do against Abdurakhimov, using his grappling to overwhelm Russian en route to a second-round TKO.
