ONE Championship has added a couple of high profile fighters to their roster from China including kickboxing star Qui Jianliang as well as former Ultimate Fighter China champion Zhang Lipeng.
ONE officials confirmed both signings to MMA Fighting on Sunday.
Considered one of China’s biggest combat sports superstars, Jianliang is already well established in the kickboxing community with an impressive 51-7 record during his career. He’s currently in the midst of a 17-fight undefeated streak dating back to 2016.
As part of the ONE Championship roster, Jianliang will be competing in the bantamweight kickboxing division for the promotion.
In addition to that signing, ONE has also added Zhang to the roster after he previously competed in the UFC following a stint on The Ultimate Fighter China.
While Zhang was successful in his octagon debut to become TUF champion along with a win over Brendan O’Reilly in his next appearance, he then suffered back-to-back losses and that brought his time with the UFC to an end.
Since that time, Zhang has primarily been competing in his native China as well as fights in Russia where he’s gone 21-2-1 including a victory over former UFC title challenger Hermes Franca.
Both fighters have now joined the ONE Championship roster with their debut dates still to be determined.
